The Bensons, an interior designer and an architect, are the talented and fun-loving couple who inspired the Benson Writing Desk collection. Perennial entertainers, they throw a great party, sharing with infectious enthusiasm their love for cooking, art, travel and music—they introduced me to my favorite cocktail at a particularly rollicking party almost two decades ago! In their home, the combination of vibrance and comfort makes being a guest in their space a delight. The same spirit extends to their guest room, which cocoons you in the softest wool wall-to-wall rug underfoot and walls covered in her paper collaboration with artist Clare Rojas—both in bold, scarlet red. The desk in this room, at which she writes her thank you notes, is where we imagined a collection built around design, curiosity and fun.
