Marie Daâge Agate Presentation Plate

The ‘Agate’ pattern takes its name from the mineral it evokes, its hand-painted brushstrokes rendered in a light, fluid style reminiscent of watercolor and finished with a gold rim. Traditionally, the presentation plate holds the place at a formal table before a course is served a guest should never sit before an empty setting with the first course laid atop and both plates cleared together. For less-formal or more modern usage, it may just as easily serve as the dinner plate itself ideal for a holiday meal, when a larger plate is welcome.
