Queen Charlotte Candles
Nicknamed the Queen City, the city of Charlotte and its resident county are named in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the queen consort of British King George III.
Commissioned at the launch of R. Runberg Curiosities in 2018, this wax bust candle of Queen Charlotte has become a signature accessory from our collection. Each candle is individually hand-colored, hand-poured, then hand-detailed, using the highest quality artisanal wax. It is then numbered and packaged with care in a custom presentation box with an accompanying insert describing the history of the queen and our candle.
The candle’s rendering was informed by Alan Ramsay’s 1762 portrait of Charlotte, which hangs in the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, North Carolina.
