Operations Coordinator

About the Role
R. Runberg Curiosities is looking for an Operations Coordinator to help run the daily rhythm of our cottage — the physical and behind-the-scenes work that keeps a small, detail-driven retail studio running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and eager to grow within the interiors, design, or retail world. We are seeking someone who is reliable, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and follows through consistently in a small business environment where every team member plays an important role. No prior retail experience is required — just a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, and a genuine interest in learning.
You’ll start by owning the essential operations that keep the cottage functioning day to day, with the opportunity to grow into clienteling, merchandising, and event support.

Core Responsibilities
Gift Wrapping & Shipping
- – Gift wrap client purchases to the RRC standard of presentation
- – Pack, ship, and deliver customer purchases to homes or FedEx
- – Email web customers order confirmations with tracking information
- – Track shipments, resolve delays or damage with FedEx, and keep customers informed
Maintain Cottage Supplies
- – Monitor and restock office supplies (paper, pricing supplies, cleaning items, water cooler, etc.)
- – Maintain wrapping and shipping supply stock (boxes, tissue, tape, ribbon, etc.)
- – Place and pick up reorders as needed
- – Keep supply storage organized and accessible
Vendor & Cottage Maintenance Coordination
- – Schedule and confirm HVAC, exterminator, and other routine maintenance appointments
- – Coordinate pickups and deliveries with recycling and packaging vendors
- – Serve as a point of contact for scheduled service providers
- – Monitor garden irrigation systems and hand water plants
Receiving & Merchandising Support
- – Assist with unpacking and inspecting incoming inventory
- – Create clear, handwritten price tags
- – Assist with moving product to the sales floor and organize backstock
- – Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing cottage
Room to Grow
As you grow into the role, there is opportunity to take on a variety of additional responsibilities which could include:
- – Assisting with in-store and online styling and product recommendations
- – Clienteling: maintaining customer notes, preferences, and proactive outreach
- – Event logistics and support for pop-ups and in-store events

Physical Requirements
- – Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- – Ability to regularly ascend and descend stairs to access inventory and supplies
