‘Greenscape’ Platter

Hand-built in the pottery village of Tunis, in Egypt’s Fayoum oasis, this platter carries a loose, naive rendering of a tree across its surface — a motif drawn straight from the potter’s own landscape, worked in warm earthen glaze tones. The unevenness of the glaze and the slight variation from piece to piece are part of the charm; no two come out quite the same. A striking centerpiece for serving, or hung as a piece of art in its own right.

Anūt celebrates Egyptian heritage and craftsmanship, bringing the light, warmth, and magic of Egypt to the home. Products are handmade by artisans across Egypt: from the pottery of Fayoum to linens made by the textile weavers of Akhmim. They celebrate the best of a land with a millenniums-long history of fine craft.
