In 1942, during one of the bleakest periods of World War II, young accountant Victor Berg inherited a ceramics shop in his hometown of Copenhagen, Denmark. Wanting to bring a bit of life and color to the war-depressed lives of his neighbors, he decided he would also begin selling flowers in the shop. His combination of fresh flowers and aged ceramics was a success and grew to multiple locations in the city. His two children joined him in the 1980s and their love of plants and history led them to travel across Europe in search of the continent’s best pottery. In Tuscany, Italy, they found and began working with the skilled and imaginative clay craftsmen who still make their terracotta pots today. Now, a third generation of Bergs continue their grandfather’s legacy, producing timeless designs made to last.
