Indian Block Printed Cotton Desk Set

Block printing is the ancient art of stamping lengths of cotton fabric with color using hand-carved wood blocks. Today, the heart of production is in Jaipur, India. Authentic block printing is always done by eye, so the natural irregularities of hand printing and even imperfections are part of the humanity and beauty of the product.

Our sets of three include one hexagonal wastebasket (folds flat), one hexagonal pencil cup (folds flat) and a rectangular tray. Each piece is crafted of heavy paperboard wrapped in block printed cotton. Wastebaskets are best suited under a desk and in a guest room or powder room to contain dry trash. We also like the pencil cups for makeup brushes.
